Upcoming Events @ Lutheran Camp on Petit Jean

Mother/Daughter Retreat is February 5-7, 2010.  The retreat is open to all girls in grades K-12 and their moms (or substitute moms).  Our theme is “Beautiful Feet” based on Isaiah 52:7, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news.”  Moms and daughters will grow closer to God and each other as they enjoy time spent together.

We’ll hike, make some cute flip-flops, have a camp-style foot spa, play games, worship around the campfire, study God’s Word, and lots more!  Registration form and more info at http://www.lutherancamp.org/files/MotherDaughter/Mother-Daughter_registration_form.pdf

It is not too late to register! Call the Camp by Feb. 3!  (501-727-5656)

On March 12-14 the guys get their turn!  It’s the Father/Son Retreat for boys in grades K-12 and their fathers.  The theme is Backyard Ballistics, based on 2 Corinthians 10:4, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”  Along with building some homemade weaponry, fathers and sons will try their hand at archery and a variety of other camp activities.  They will also grow together in faith through Bible study and campfire devotions.  Registration and more information can be found at http://www.lutherancamp.org/files/FatherSon/Father-Son_Registration.pdf

The last two Scrapbook Retreats of the spring are March 5-7 and April 3-May 2.  Registration is limited, and these weekends fill up fast!  The $70 registration fee includes two nights, five meals, and your own 6-foot table workspace.  Bring a friend and enjoy Chris’ good cooking along with time to meditate on the work of God in your life.  Registration forms are at http://www.lutherancamp.org/UpcomingEvents.html

We are excited about our newest Women’s Retreat coming soon on April 9-11.  The speaker is Mary May Larmoyeux, author of the book, “Help for the Busy Mom”.  She will be speaking on the verse “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Luke 12:24) and teaching us how to pass on the treasure of faith to the next generation.  This retreat is open to all women age 18 and up.  Registration forms are available at www.lutherancamp.org

The Spring Family Camping Weekend is April 23-25.   The campground (tents & RVs) and group camping areas will all be available.  Campfire devotions and other activities will also be offered.  Come enjoy God’s breathtaking creation on Petit Jean Mountain!  Call director Chris Lawrenz at 501-727-5656 to reserve your spot.

Summer camp brochures will be arriving in your church or school mailbox soon!  Camps are available for youth in grade K-12 throughout June and July.  Young adults who have completed grades 9-12 can apply to be junior staff.  Call the camp office for an application.
