Tell Everyone What He Has Done!

When we learn about examples of faith sharing, individuals and congregations are moved to praise God as His light shines through us and His name is glorified.  These examples are happening everyday in the congregations of our Mid-South District. They serve to encourage us when we hear about them.  A number of congregations are addressing their unique

ministry opportunities and challenges.  Our District continues to explore more ways to let others know about what God is doing so His Church is edified.  Your District Ablaze ambassadors, Pastors Lyle Muller and David Callies, are listening and want to be responsive to what you’re telling us.   Our prayer and desire is that faith sharing, as a Spirit-led movement, grows in our hearts and lives.  We invite you to contact us if we may be of assistance.

Pastor and Church leaders are encouraged to use real life examples of faith sharing in their congregation’s publications or in sermons and devotions.  Let people know about the website: www.lcms.org/ablaze which is filled with powerful stories of Gospel witness.  Our hearts rejoice when we read about examples of witnessing like the following from a Lutheran Women’s Missionary member:

“A man named Jim was sent from a pest-management company to my home, in response to my request to remove a beehive mostly that anyone would bother! That opened a door to share how important it is to have faith in God, to believe that Jesus is our Savior from sin so we will live in heaven with Him. Jim sadly shook his head and said that while he went to church as a child, he had fallen away. I told him that I’d keep him in my prayers, which he seemed to appreciate. Imagine my surprise when, a few days later, I received a check in the mail from him, with a notation that it was ‘for your mite box.’ What an awesome God we have!
