College is a time when a lot of students become disconnected from the church. Spiritual life takes a back seat during one of the most formational times in their life. This e-mail is for your UT students who have not already connected with a church or campus ministry.
There is a new church starting in Knoxville, TN on August 22, 2010 called The Point. The ministry will be located in The West Town Mall Regal Movie theater, and is targeted at people far from God. Those who have become disconnected from church for whatever reason. It is church where you are able to text in your questions during the sermon, and we will spend 5 to 10 minutes after each service answering those questions. This is a very different kind of ministry that is seeking to reach the unreached with the saving message of Christ.
I am currently in the Knoxville area and would like to meet those students who have gone to the University of Tennessee and not connected up with a local church, or campus ministry. I want to connect them to a community of believers where they can bring their questions and their doubts. I want to connect those from your church body who have gone off to school and become disconnected. I will be happy to meet them for coffee, or a slice of pizza and simply get to know. Allow them to meet a local pastor they can bring their questions to, and hopefully connect them to a church where they can continue to grow in their faith.

I have a passion for the lost and the disconnected. This is a church that desires to keep people connected to Christ, and connect those who have never been connected.

2009 Highlights
- LakePointes’ average worship attendance grew from 265 during 2008 to 543 in 2009.
Last night I sat around a table with 3 people in their 20’s. As we sat around eating pizza and getting to know one another I had an opportunity to share the vision of the new church plant.
